Nareit Hawaii represents the interests of REITs in Hawaii and their participation in civic, community, and policy initiatives to benefit residents statewide, while also supporting community and charitable organizations that address social issues of importance. Hawaii REITs are long-term property holders that own, renovate and manage affordable housing projects, commercial buildings, shopping centers, medical office buildings, hotels, public storage facilities, cell phone towers, and logistical spaces and warehouses for small businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for a local grant, your organization:
- Must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not classified as a private foundation.
- Must serve the local community.
- Should be aligned with the funding priorities of supporting local affordable housing non-profits and programs.
- Organizations that deny service to a potential client or beneficiary on the basis of race or otherwise have unlawfully discriminatory eligibility criteria.
