The Program aims to increase the capacity of community-based organizations to provide educational activities and experiences related to the following: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); arts (dance, music, visual arts etc.); athletics; cultural awareness; and the improvement of educational outcomes.
Funding Information
Program grants will be awarded through the GHDNRF in amounts up to $25,000 in total.
Eligible Activities
- Supporting the instruction or delivery of educational, STEM, arts-based, recreational, and cultural activities
- Educational, STEM, arts-based, recreational, and cultural field trips and experiences
- Purchasing of equipment, supplies or materials
- Activities that celebrate and recognize the achievement of children and youth in the Greater Hill District
- Activities that engage, educate and involve parents and caregivers of children and youth in the Greater Hill District
- Providing building repairs or maintenance for compliance purposes related to childcare and youth serving facilities.
Project Eligibility
- All granted funds must directly benefit residents of the Greater Hill District.
- Each applicant should apply under only one initiative area per application submission.
- Administrative costs, like rent or salaries, are not eligible for funding.
- Nonprofits or for-profit businesses with non-profit partners are eligible to apply. Some emerging organizations may be eligible.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible grantees include registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, or entities that have a 501(c)(3) entity as a fiscal sponsor, that serve Greater Hill District youth. Childcare providers must be accredited by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or Allegheny County, to be considered eligible for the grant.
