The Conexiones Positivas Fund seeks to address these disparities faced by Latine communities by supporting organizations, initiatives, and innovations led by and serving Latines living with and vulnerable to HIV through HIV care and prevention services, advocacy and movement-building, stigma reduction, and leadership development.
Focus Areas
Organizations will be provided resources to strengthen operations, create leadership pipelines, and implement programs or initiatives that advance one or more of the following key areas of focus:
- Health Equity
- Grassroots Advocacy & Movement Building
- Media and Narrative Change
- Leadership Development & Capacity Building.
With the generous support of ViiV Healthcare’s Positive Action Grant Program, AIDS United has announced two funding opportunities through the Conexiones Positivas Fund. For the 2024-2025 grant cycle:
- $90,000 in funding is available through the Caminos Fund, a project of the Conexiones Positivas Fund investing in emerging Latine-led organizations supporting Latine communities living with and vulnerable to HIV and cultivating emerging leaders and addressing the HIV epidemic.
- $225,000 is available through the Desarrollo Fund, a project of the Conexiones Positivas Fund investing in Latine-led and serving organizations at a critical juncture in their journey addressing the social determinants of health affecting Latine communities, building the capacity of HIV movement leaders, and accelerating innovations that address the HIV epidemic.
These grants will address the health and well-being of Latines living with and affected by HIV by directly funding and building the capacity of Latine-led and serving organizations to:
- Increase support for organizations providing HIV care and prevention, advocacy, and leadership development for Latine communities.
- Foster collaboration between traditional HIV organizations and those focused on social justice and civil rights.
- Increase resources to Latine communities nationwide through capacity-building and grantmaking.
The grants will be awarded for 12 months (January to December) and renewable annually for up to three years. They are for general operating costs and may support efforts that enable an organization to carry out its mission effectively by strengthening organizational capacity and infrastructure while advancing one of CPF’s key focus areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations must be headquartered, founded, and anchored in the United States, Puerto Rico, or other territories of the United States. Special consideration will be given to organizations from Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Puerto Rico. However, organizations from all states and territories are encouraged to apply.
- Organizations must be:
- Latine-led:
- Latine leaders are in a position of influence within the organization, meaning 51% of the board and staff are Latine; and,
- Latine-serving:
- Organizations committed to serving and empowering Latines as evidenced by:
- Programmatic services prioritizing and targeting the needs of Latines.
- Has a history of serving Latines.
