These grants aim to uplift local organizations doing outstanding work supporting women and children throughout the Greater Charlottesville and Albemarle region.
Women United is a collective giving circle of local women who care about making their community a better place and who believe in that women have the power to create positive change when they join together. It operates in partnership with United Way of Greater Charlottesville, with the collective goals of uplifting local families and making a positive impact on our communities through grantmaking, advocacy, awareness-building, and philanthropy.
Funding Information
- Women United awarded $60,000 to ten local organizations uplifting women and children throughout the Greater Charlottesville area.
- Women United will award grants ranging from $2,500 – $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Grant consideration is open to any organization meeting the following eligibility requirements:
- You are a 501(c)(3) organization (or have a demonstrable nonprofit fiscal agent) in existence for a minimum of two years.
- Your organization serves women and/or children in Charlottesville and/or the Virginia counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, or Orange.
- You have not received a grant from Women United (previously Women United in Philanthropy) for the past two years (2024 or 2025).
