Purpose
Local First Arizona is issuing this RFGA to bring into the network the expertise and capacity to:
- identify Northern Arizona childcare providers, both unlicensed Friends, Family & Neighbor (FFN) providers and regulated providers, in need of technical assistance and business support to start or expand their childcare operations and/or to improve the quality of their childcare service delivery;
- directly provide technical assistance and support to these aspiring or existing childcare providers;
- recruit two cohorts of up to 24 Northern Arizona childcare providers for a virtual business accelerator program to be delivered by Local First Arizona;
- connect childcare providers to any other resources and services that may be fitting to their needs and interests related to starting, sustaining or expanding childcare services;
- offer communications and services in both English and Spanish.
Funding Information
Total funding for recruiting childcare providers for a tailored business accelerator program and for delivering technical assistance to childcare providers over 12 months, estimated July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026, is fixed at $240,000 billable in a mix of monthly installments and upon completion of specific deliverables completed over the term of the contract.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-profit organizations, higher education organizations, and governmental agencies that can build a system of direct outreach and delivery of technical assistance/business support services to aspiring and existing childcare providers in the five-county region and tribal lands within that territory will be considered. The selected entity to receive these grants funds will be required to provide both in-person and virtual support. To lower barriers for childcare providers to receive technical assistance, support services to these entrepreneurs and registered businesses must be delivered in a distributed (decentralized) format vs. requiring them to physically access services only available in a handful of communities.
