The Victoria S. and Bradley L. Geist Foundation is inviting proposals to support Hawaii’s transitioning foster youth. This funding opportunity aligns with the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative and the Hawaii Youth Opportunities Initiative.
The foundation seeks projects that engage youth in their development and improve outcomes in key areas such as permanence, education, employment, housing, physical and mental health, social capital, and financial capability.
Priority will be given to programs where every young person has a reliable adult support network and access to education and steady employment. Projects should also promote safe, affordable housing, access to health services, and strong community relationships that help youth achieve personal goals.
Grants typically range from $10,000 to $75,000 annually. Eligible applicants include tax-exempt Hawaii organizations such as nonprofits, religious organizations, and government units.
Programs must primarily serve current or former foster youth aged 14-24 who have been involved with state child welfare or mental health systems after their 14th birthday, including those adopted or reunited with birth families before adulthood.
