The Harold L. Brake & Dolores K. Brake Legacy Fund is inviting applications from nonprofits with projects based in St. Thomas, Peters, and Hamilton Townships in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Grants range from $10,000 to $100,000, with funding available up to $35,000 per project.
Projects may be carried out anytime during the grant year, which runs from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026. Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits or have a fiscal sponsor that is a registered 501(c)(3).
Nonprofits serving the specified townships are eligible, but certain organizations—such as St. Thomas Sports Association, St. Thomas Cemetery Association, Menno Haven, St. Thomas Ambulance Company, and WellSpan Summit Foundation for the Rhonda Brake Shreiner Women’s Center—are excluded from applying. Organizations may not receive funding more than once in three consecutive years.
The grant does not support advertising, capital campaigns, direct lobbying, individuals, national or statewide umbrella groups without a local presence, new staff positions without sustainability plans, religious organizations for religious purposes, retroactive projects, or more than 50% of a project’s total cost.
