Funding Information
During the program companies will receive $20,000 in non-dilutive grant funds and a $4,000 family-care stipend.
Program Period
6 month duration.
Eligible Industries
The following are examples of types of companies in each industry:
- Tech: communication systems, social media, IoT, online activism, AI, computer science
- Food Systems: farms, produce, consumer goods, restaurants
- Fashion & Beauty: accessories, clothing, apparel, recycling/disposal programs
- Health & Wellness: spirituality, beauty products, natural remedies, mental health services, fitness
- Keiki & Education: children’s toys, education programs or tools, art and art programs.
Program Resources
- Non- Dilutive Grant Funding
- Women are over-mentored and under-funded so we aim to provide grant funding to seed your business’ growth and empower you to build your future.
- ʻOhana Care Stipends
- Flexible child and elder care stipends can be used for anything from daycare services to paying a neighborhood auntie or grandparent, and even for grocery shopping.
- Education
- Comprehensive virtual education sessions led by experts cover topics such as value propositions, KPIs, long-term planning, marketing, fundraising, pitching, and securing wholesale accounts.
- Mentorship
- Participating teams are matched with core mentors based on their industry and have access to a broader advisor network of former entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and experts. These carefully selected mentors offer leadership, expertise, and support, serving as sounding boards, brainstorm partners, and connectors.
- Retreats & Pilina Building
- Monthly retreats held across the pae ʻāina facilitate network expansion, meaningful connections, place- based learning, and community-building activities. All retreat costs are covered by FoundHer.
- Supportive Community
- FoundHer has an extensive network of entrepreneurs, policy makers, designers, and more, who are ready to support you in growing your business.
Program Requirements
- 1 founder is required to participate in every educational session and in- person event.
- Spend at least 15 hours per week implementing the topics learned
- Meet with mentor(s) for 1-2 hours per month
- Complete monthly surveys for the duration of the program
- Complete quarterly progress surveys for 3 years
- Attend all weekly virtual educational sessions, bi-weekly check ins with the program managers, and bi-weekly cohort check ins
- Attend all in-person program kick-off, monthly retreats, and graduation
- Respectful and professional conduct at all times.
Program Criteria
- For Profit (LLC, Corporation, etc.)
- Proof of Concept (i.e. Sales, Partnerships, Active Users, etc.)
- 51% of company owners must identify as women, and Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or Asian descent
- Based in Hawaiʻi
- Early Stage (~3 years of operations)
