The Health Ambassador Program is a partnership between community members and Broomfield Public Health and Environment (BPHE). Together, this group will make decisions about where and how health resources should be focused in the Broomfield community. This will be done through a paid one-year agreement, where participants will meet regularly to share information, plan and collaborate.
Broomfield Public Health and Environment strongly encourages applications from individuals that represent or nonprofits that provide services to:
- Communities of color (Asian American, Black, Indigenous, Latino, etc.)
- Non-English speakers
- Older adults
- People experiencing homelessness
- Immigrants and refugees
- People living with disabilities
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+)
- Veterans
- People in recovery
Funding Information
Health Ambassadors will be paid $10,000 (Tier 1), $15,000 (Tier 2), or $25,000 (Tier 3) for their work.
Required Activities
- Participate in monthly meetings that are held on the second Thursday of the month from 4-6 p.m.
- Contribute staff time and resources to participate in meetings, coordinate activities, and develop and implement communications and outreach efforts based on community need
- Due to the funding source, all Health Ambassadors will support opioid use prevention and intervention
- Submit quarterly reports to Broomfield Public Health and Environment
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations are not required to be located in Broomfield but they must serve Broomfield residents and use this funding for work in Broomfield.
- Individuals must be Broomfield residents.
- City and County of Broomfield employees are not eligible to apply.
- Activities must be related to improving the health of the community and distinctly different from an organizations’ normal business operations.
