The grant provides financial assistance to residential property owners to stabilize, preserve, and maintain the historic character of individual structures within the Local Historic Districts.
The Historic Preservation Incentive Grants provide a modest economic stimulus to owners of homes in Salisbury’s Local Historic Districts to help stabilize, preserve, and maintain the historic character of the individual structure and historic district in accordance with Salisbury’s Local Historic Standards.
Funding Information
Maximum grant awards are $2,500, with low to moderate income households being eligible for up to $7,500.
Eligibility Criteria
- Property must be located in a Local Historic District
- Project may not have commenced or been completed prior to notification of award
- A Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) must be submitted and approved before applying
- Project may not commence prior to notification of grant award
- Applicants are only eligible to receive an HPI grant every other year.
