Priorities
Priority shall be given to applications which meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Organizations/charities which provide charitable services to the Johnson County community;
- Organizations/charities that advance local system of justice;
- Organizations/charities that support local children; and
- Organizations/charities that support local families.
Grant making Standards
Applications will be evaluated by the following standards:
- The experience of the potential grant recipient;
- That the funds do not replace existing resources;
- The other funding sources of the potential grant recipient;
- Special needs of the requesting organization;
- Whether the requested grant services can be used as an example for other organizations; and
- The specific purpose for which the funds will be utilized.
Requirements
The following requirements and limitations shall apply to all organizations/charities applying for a grant:
- Organization/charity must be a 501(c) (3) organization/charity or state/local governmental agency;
- Organization/charity may not directly serve religious, political or lobbying purposes;
- No individuals shall be eligible for a grant with the exception of scholarships and/or prizes; and
- Grants will not be made for fund raising activities.
