The purpose of the Kentucky Arts Partnership grant program is to ensure year-round participation in the arts is available to the people of Kentucky by providing support to eligible arts organizations.
Goals
Through the Kentucky Arts Partnership program, they strive to work in collaboration with arts organizations across the commonwealth in order to:
- Develop and maintain strong arts organizations,
- Increase arts participation statewide,
- Promote diverse arts and culture, and
- Help build an efficient arts delivery system across the state.
Funding Information
The Kentucky Arts Partnership grant program funding formula is based on the following:
- Your organization’s past three-year operating revenue total average;
- Available funds for the program. Awards are contingent on funding from the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts;
- Organizations’ eligible operating revenues with fixed maximum funding amounts for the following tiers:
- Tier 1
- Eligible Operating Revenues: $5,000,000 and more
- Funding Amount: $30,000
- Tier 2
- Eligible Operating Revenues: $2,500,000 – $4,999,999
- Funding Amount: $25,000
- Tier 3
- Eligible Operating Revenues: $1,000,000 – $2,499,999
- Funding Amount: $20,000
- Tier 4
- Eligible Operating Revenues: $500,000 – $999,999
- Funding Amount: $15,000
- Tier 5
- Eligible Operating Revenues: $250,000 – $499,999
- Funding Amount: $10,000
- Tier 6
- Eligible Operating Revenues: $100,000 – $249,999
- Funding Amount: $5,000

Grant Period
July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be legally chartered in Kentucky and have its headquarters and home season, or activities equivalent to a home season for nonproducing organizations, in Kentucky.
- Applicant must be a free-standing arts group independent of any other organization.
- Applicant must currently have, and maintain during the grant cycle, IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
- Applicant must be responsible for its own programming.
- Applicant must provide a significant amount of year-round public arts-based activity and programming that impacts Kentuckians and their communities.
- Applicant must have a board approved long-range plan covering at least the current and next fiscal years.
- Applicant must be in good standing with the Kentucky Arts Council with no past-due final reports in any grant category.
- Applicant must demonstrate ongoing fiscal responsibility by submitting its most recent 2024 or 2025 IRS Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N. The arts council will also accept audits or independent financial reviews if available.
