The Knight Art + Tech Expansion fund provides support for technical capacity-building to arts practitioners (both artists and arts organizations) based in Akron, OH, Detroit, MI, or Miami, FL. The Fund provides support to arts practitioners seeking to expand their reach and impact through the use of technology. Applicants may request support for ongoing needs, or for discrete projects.
- Purchase and installation of hardware and/or software (e.g., licensing of archiving software, installation of livestreaming equipment, purchase of cloud storage)
- Build-out/permanent infrastructure (e.g., installation of networking equipment, outdoor projections)
- Staff or contract support (e.g. contract videographer, full-time web developer, social media manager)
- Website redesign (design and build)
- Digitization/archiving (digital photography and storage of collections or portfolios).
Funding Information
Individual artists may request up to $25,000, while organizations or collectives may request up to $100,000 in funding.
