Helping LGBTQ+ people fulfill their potential, the Leonard-Litz Foundation’s mission is to fund organizations which advance the interests and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community through advocacy, programs, and services that meet the needs of LGBTQ+ people. Considerations
- Phase 1: Submit a grant proposal
- The first step is to complete a grant proposal using the website’s grant proposal form. The application should provide a full description of your organization, the work being proposed, the funding required, and how the funding will be used to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people. Be sure to upload all the requested documents.
- Phase 2: Review of grant proposals
- The grant review team will do an initial review of your grant proposal to make sure it aligns with the Foundation’s mission. If it does not qualify for any reason, they may recommend you seek funding from another source more closely aligned with the work being done by your organization. After an initial review, they will reach out to you to learn more about your work and the specific program or service for which funding is being requested. The grant review team will look over every grant proposal in detail, with special consideration given to understanding what metrics will be used to measure success in improving the lives of LGBTQ+ people.
- Phase 3: Final Decisions
- The grant proposal will be dispositioned one of many ways: Approve the grant proposal. You will receive follow-up communication with the details of your grant award and next steps, including how the funding will be disbursed. Recommend changes or require further information. After they discuss your proposal in more detail, they may recommend small tweaks or adjustments to help maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of any funding. If necessary, they may request additional documentation. Recommend you seek funding from another source more closely aligned with the work being done by your organization.
