Project Types and Area of Interest
Projects that will be considered for Pfizer support will focus on landscape of treatment for atopic dermatits and alopecia areata is advancing, with more evidence and breakthrough therapeutic options available to patients. Through this RFP, it is the intent to support educational symposia at or around major US dermatology congresses that focus on addressing knowledge and practice gaps specific to severity assessment, treatment, and overall care management of adult and adolescent patients suffering from alopecia areata and atopic dermatits, respectively.
Potential applicants are encouraged to address these topics of consideration:
- Clinical management of AD patients inadequately controlled on biologic treatment
- Dose optimization and optimal dose selection for JAKi in AD
- How to identify an appropriate patient with M2S AD for systemic JAKi therapy
- Diagnosis and severity assessment of AA and identification of patients appropriate for systemic treatment
- Long term benefit: risk of treatments for patients with severe AA
- Treatment of adolescents with severe AA.
Funding Information
Individual projects requesting up to $300,000 USD will be considered. The funding of 1-2 projects is anticipated.
Grant Period
Project length will be a maximum of 12 months.
Target Audience
The target audience for the project should include dermatologist, pediatric dermatologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and/or physician assistants who treat AD or AA.

- The following may apply: medical, dental, nursing, allied health, and/or pharmacy professional schools; healthcare institutions (both large and small); professional organizations/medical societies; medical education companies; and other entities with a mission related to healthcare professional education and/or healthcare improvement.
- Only organizations are eligible to receive grants, not individuals or medical practice groups (i.e., an independent group of physicians not affiliated with a hospital, academic institution, or professional society).
- If the project involves multiple departments within an institution and/or between different institutions / organizations / associations, all institutions must have a relevant role and the requesting organization must have a key role in the project.
- The applicant must be the project/program lead or an authorized designee of such individual (e.g., project/program lead’s grant coordinator).
- The project/program lead must be an employee or contractor of the requesting organization.
- Requesting organization must be legally able to receive award funding directly from Pfizer Inc. They strongly recommend that applicants confirm this with their organization or institution prior to submitting an application. Grants awarded to organizations that are subsequently found to be unable to accept funding directly from Pfizer Inc. may be subject to rescission.
- For projects offering continuing education credit, the requesting organization must be accredited.
