This program will assist in the promotion of horse racing and equine related support within the state. Through the Equine Grant Program, MDARD helps advance equine-related programs and research and preserve the agricultural and economic benefits of Michigan s horse racing and breeding industry.
Funding Information
The Horse Racing Advisory Commission, provides a total of up to $125,000 in grant funding annually for:
- The promotion and marketing of horse racing
- Equine-related research
- Equine-related support and aftercare
- Other equine-related or horse racing programs.
- This is a cost reimbursement grant and there are no match requirements.
Grant Period
September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be in business for at least 2 years
- Must submit the previous fiscal year financial statements
- Must be in good standing with the state
- Must submit all required reports for grants received in the previous grant cycle by deadline indicated in grant agreement
- Applicant must be owner/operator/authorized agent of the entity seeking the grant.
