State: All States

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires the Secretary to the postsecondary, vocational, technical, continuing, and adult education needs of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Priorities

The projects must achieve, at a minimum, the following expected outcomes:

  • Increased capacity of LEAs, State schools for the deaf, vocational rehabilitation (VR) service providers, postsecondary institutions, institutions that primarily serve students who are deaf and hard of hearing, and other relevant organizations and public agencies to collaboratively conduct outreach to promote and implement evidenced-based practices5 (EPBs) and strategies to provide postsecondary education and employment training opportunities for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing;
  • Increased capacity of SEAs, LEAs, State schools for the deaf, State VR agencies, VR service providers, postsecondary institutions, institutions that primarily serve students who are deaf and hard of hearing, and other relevant organizations and public agencies to collaboratively collect, share, and analyze data on individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing who are admitted to, persist in, or completed postsecondary education and employment training opportunities for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing;
