Details:
The purpose of this program solicitation is to select an organization (Cooperator) to administer the program as described below. The Cooperator will monitor and regularly report to the NEA Project Director on the status of all MICD activities. In brief, the Cooperator will:
- Administer and provide operational support for the MICD program, including the fulfillment of the program’s mission and goals, implementation of programmatic activities, and support for appropriate professional staffing.
- Organize and implement a total of up to five MICD National and Special Session Institutes each year.
- Implement a comprehensive communications strategy.
- Manage all institute follow-up activities, including preparation and dissemination of archival material on the institutes, as well as follow-up programming for alumni MICD mayors.
Funding Information
NEA expects to award one cooperative agreement of up to $540,000, contingent upon the availability of funds.
Project Period
This cooperative agreement will begin on or after October 1, 2026, and may extend for up to 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
The following types of entities are eligible to apply:
- Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3), U.S. organizations;
- Units of state or local government; or
- Federally recognized tribal communities or tribes.
To be eligible, the applicant organization also must:
- Meet the NEA’s Legal Requirements including non-profit, tax-exempt status at the time of application.
- Be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM), have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), and maintain an active SAM registration until the application process is complete and, if selected, throughout the life of the award.
- Have, at the time of application, at least a five-year history of experience related to policies and practices affecting the design of American cities.
