Funding Information

Foundation will be awarding between $5,000 to $10,000 each to selected nonprofit organizations in Maryland in the first round of funding.

Submission Guidelines

  • In order to apply for this funding opportunity, you must be a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing.
  • To submit your proposal, please provide:
    • A cover page with your organization name, address, website, email, tax-ID (EIN), and point of contact.
    • A brief description of no more than 2 pages outlining your organization’s mission, goals, and the details of the proposed project. Please explain clearly:
    • How your project will catalyze young people using technology to improve people’s lives.
    • The impact you expect the project to have, and on which community.
    • How you plan to use the project funding.
    • If you had the funds to do so, how you would scale your project for greater impact.
    • Any additional supporting materials (e.g., annual reports, flyers, links, videos, or pictures) that showcase your organization.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation team will review submissions based on the following criteria:

  • 501(c)3 nonprofit status.
  • Maryland-focused.
  • Alignment with The Neilom Foundation’s mission and goals.
  • Innovative and unusual project ideas with clear impact potential.
  • Demonstrated history of organizational community engagement.
  • Ability to leverage technology to drive positive outcomes.
