Every year, the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development supports agencies with ESG funds to help individuals and families maintain or obtain permanent housing.
NBD focuses funds on the following activities:
- Homeless Prevention: focuses on housing stability, which helps people to stay in their homes or obtain new affordable housing.
- Rapid Re-housing: offers case management and relocation services to people living in shelters to overcome barriers and obtain affordable homes.
- Street Outreach: offers case management and referral services to people living on the streets (or similar places).
Grant Period
May 1, 2025-April 30, 2026.
Who Can Apply?
Funds are available to non-profit agencies that are tax exempt under the 501(c) (3) provision of the Internal Revenue Code. ESG funds work in collaboration with the Continuum of Care (CoC), the Housing and Homeless Coalition of Central New York (HHC), and community service providers.
