Guidelines
- The Grigg Lewis Foundation, Inc., is a private non-operating foundation. The board members have a fiduciary responsibility to honor the founder’s wishes and ensure that the Foundation continues perpetually.
- Each request is reviewed carefully and objectively to ensure that they are here as an asset to Eastern Niagara County and Western New York residents for many years to come.
- The Foundation will review grants for projects or programs that primarily serve residents of Eastern Niagara County. The board will also consider projects and programs from the boarder Niagara County and Western New York areas, provided they are not duplicative and demonstrate a clear, proven need.
- Multi-year, challenge, or matching grants will be considered.
- Applying agencies must be able to provide a copy of their 501c3 IRS determination letter.
- The Foundation values collaborations between nonprofit organizations.
- Applicants should have identified additional funding sources and must demonstrate sustainability.
- Requests submitted by tax-supported agencies, or by agencies located outside Niagara County that deliver an unmet program or service within Niagara County, require unanimous approval by the Board of Directors.
