Funding Information
The State will offer 10 grants for up to $ 40,000.00 per year per Award.
Grant Period
The project period is expected to begin on April 1, 2026, and will last for 51 months.
Required Activities
The awarded applicants will be required to work with the State to complete the following activities:
- Collaborate with community and school partners to develop a comprehensive tobacco/nicotine-free campus policy at the school district or school level to include supportive disciplinary processes.
- Implement evidence-based youth nicotine cessation programs.
- Implement evidence-based prevention programs to prevent the first initiation of tobacco and nicotine use among youth.
- Develop a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the policy change.
- Engage youth in supportive prevention programs such as Nicotine Free Teams, TNSTRONG youth activities, or other positive youth development programs.
- With support and guidance from the State, implement at least one youth focus group to collect qualitative data with questions developed in conjunction with the State’s Tobacco Program epidemiologist/evaluator.
- Report progress to the State on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Meet with the State every month for technical support and updates.
