This fund will award grants to organizations that align with NMF’s priority fields of interest: community resilience, educational opportunities, environmental adaptability, healthy communities, and rural infrastructure. The mission of the fund is to strengthen New Mexico communities by promoting social equity and supporting self-sufficiency to improve the quality of life for all New Mexicans.
Focus Areas
Organizations doing work in the following areas are eligible to apply for grants:
- Nutrition: organizations making healthy food options available to communities (to include food pantries and soup kitchens) or organizations promoting community supported agricultural systems.
- Health care: organizations providing primary health, mental health and health education programs.
- Recreation: organizations providing access to healthy activities for people of all ages.
- Animal welfare: spay, neuter and vaccine programs only.
- Traditional social connections: organizations that connect communities, including rural libraries, senior centers, farmers markets, acequia associations, cultural and community centers.
Funding Information
- Applicants must have an operating budget of under $1 million.
- Grant range: up to $10,000.

December 1, 2024 to November 30, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing with the IRS (or have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3)) located in New Mexico. Grants cannot be made to individuals.
