This fund is designed to benefit artists of demonstrated merit and ability, providing the opportunity and freedom to pursue community, creativity & educational artistic endeavors.
Categories
The proposed project must fit one of the following categories:
- Community Project grants help artists initiate a community-based project that leads to artistic creation. Evaluation is based on quality, the community impact and overall concept.
- Creative Project grants support creation of new work or body of work. Evaluation is based on quality of creative opportunity, career building potential, and overall concept.
- Education/Travel grants support opportunities to participate in conferences, residencies or workshops that provide education and further one’s artistic practice. Evaluation is based on quality of educational opportunity, career building potential, and overall concept.
Funding Information
The program offers up to four grants of $1,500.
Eligibility Criteria
- Artists must:
- Have resided in Norman, OK for at least the past 12 months
- Be over the age of 18
- The project must:
- Take place in Norman, OK
- Include a community outreach element.
Selection Criteria
Applications for the award will be reviewed by a selection committee of the Norman Arts Council according to the policies of the NAC and considering the following criteria
- Artistic excellence, originality, and ability to produce a consistent body of work as evidenced by representation of past work in images and other supporting materials.
- Thoughtful proposed use of funds.
- Ability to be a good representative of the Norman community during projects.
