The purpose of this NFO is to encourage and promote conservation planning and conservation practice implementation in urban, suburban and other small-scale type agricultural operations.
Emphasis will be placed on projects that:
- Establish demonstration community gardens.
- Promote conservation demonstrations on existing community agriculture project areas.
- Provide technical assistance for community gardens.
Additionally, proposals should seek to:
- Provide conservation learning experiences to urban, suburban, and Tribal communities.
- Address concerns regarding food deserts.
- Advance Tribal food sovereignty.
- Achieve positive and measurable natural resources conservation outcomes.
Funding Information
- The Federal funding agency expects to award approximately $1,500,000.
- The estimated funding floor for this opportunity is $5,000, and the estimated funding ceiling is $250,000.
Project Period
Projects may be between 1 and 5 years in duration.
