Through this grant opportunity, UWWV Success By 6 invites childcare providers to apply for funds that will enable their program to overcome a barrier and take a next step toward an eventual high-quality designation.
Funding Information
UWWV is making available a total of $75,000 to be provided to qualifying applicants. Applicants may apply for grants between $1,000 and $10,000. Funds must be spent within one year after they are awarded, and they must be used to enable a provider to participate in Paths to QUALITY or achieve a higher PTQ rating.
Program Eligibility and Application Criteria
United Way invites applications from licensed family childcare provider homes that operate year-round in Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion, or Vigo Counties in Indiana or in Clark County, Illinois. Applicants must agree to participate in Paths to QUALITY or in the equivalent program in Illinois (for Clark County applicants). Award recipients will be expected to document their progress toward their PTQ goals.

- This funding opportunity will not support general operating expenses or staff salaries.
- Priority will be given to applicants who have not received United Way funding in the past two years.
- Expected Program Outcomes
- Success By 6 has a long-term outcome to increase access, affordability, and choice of high-quality childcare in the Wabash Valley. Through the On the Path to PTQ investment, Success by 6 expects to advance the following goals:
- Enable a licensed program to begin participating in Indiana Paths to QUALITY (or IL equivalent)
- Enable a program already participating in Paths to QUALITY to increase to level 2 or higher.
