Developed by the New York State Council on Children and Families, the Touchstones framework is organized by six Life Areas: Economic Security; Physical and Emotional Health; Education; Citizenship; Family; and Community. The goals and objectives are related to each other and call for comprehensive strategies to address any single aspect of children and family well-being.
For 2026, the Orange County Youth Bureau will administer Youth Development Program, Youth Sports and Education, and Runaway Homeless Youth funding including additional grants and funding programs that may become available through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services Office of Youth Development, and Orange County Taxation Solutions (S) dollars to Orange County nonprofits.
Orange County Youth Bureau grants are awarded to non-profit organizations that will operate to help meet goals identified in the Touchstone Life Areas defined in Part III of this RFP and the Orange County Children and Family Services Plan.
Funding Information
For 2026, there is a maximum of $55,000 funding amount that can be requested. This can include a combination of State and County funding. A maximum of $50,000 can be awarded for Youth Sports & Education Funding, but up to an additional $5,000 of County Solutions funding could be included. New proposals will be considered a pilot program. Historically this has resulted in an average of $5,000 awarded.
Eligibility Criteria
The following organizations are eligible to apply for funding through this RFP: not-for-profits, secular and faith-based, organizations operating in Orange County; and partnerships or consortia consisting of the foregoing. Proposers that have never received funding through the Orange County Youth Bureau are encouraged to apply for funding in this RFP.
