Return to the Heart Foundation (R2HF) empowers and resources Indigenous Women who bring holistic healing to their communities and beyond. Through this work, R2HF cultivates a world where Indigenous Women and Girls are valued, protected and supported – and where Mother Earth thrives for future generations.

This is a national opportunity for Native Women-led programs and will be a participatory grant making process, with the grant review team consisting of a diverse group of Native Women who have grassroots, national and lived experience.

The grantees who are selected for funding will name a Native Woman to help further raise awareness of this crisis and, in remembrance, to directly acknowledge and honor the person.

Funding Information

The one-year grant awards will range in the amount of $20K-$30K.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility requirements to apply:

  • Project must be Native Women-led (Member of Federally Recognized Tribe).
  • Must be a 501(c)3 or fiscally sponsored program.
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older and reside in the U.S.
  • Project must focus on tribal communities on and/or off tribal lands in the U.S.

Programs/Projects will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Commitment to supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of Native Women and Girls.
  • Projected impact the project will have on the community.
  • Urgency of the need that this project will meet, especially in locations with high rates of MMIW/G2S.
  • The project reflects Native culture and values.
  • Your goals and objectives are achievable during the funding year.
