OJP is committed to advancing work that furthers DOJ’s mission to uphold the rule of law, to keep country safe, and to protect civil rights. OJP provides federal leadership, funding, and other critical resources to directly support law enforcement, combat violent crime, protect American children, provide services to American crime victims, and address public safety challenges, including human trafficking and the opioid crisis.
The goal of this program is to update the SANE Program Development and Operation Guide to serve as an updated, comprehensive resource that will help establish, expand, and refine SANE programs across the country.
- Objective 1: Consult with experts in forensic nursing, legal services, victim advocacy, law enforcement, public health, and community-based organizations to provide strategic guidance throughout the project.
- Objective 2: Identify and incorporate the latest evidence-based practices, technological innovations, and advancements in forensic nursing techniques.
- Objective 3: Revise the Guide to incorporate—
- current national standards in forensic nursing, legal frameworks, and victim services.
