Details:
Peer support services provide additional support for pregnant and breastfeeding WIC participants, with the goal of increasing breastfeeding initiation, exclusivity, and duration. Training for grantees on how to manage a peer program and train peer counselors is provided by MN WIC. Local peer programs will be asked to share their successes and challenges in providing peer support to WIC participants, and to help us identify and share best practices related to peer breastfeeding support.
