The Project Grants for Capital Improvements offer targeted funding to organizations making a proven impact in arts programming across Los Angeles County. Provided by the Perenchio Foundation, these grants support critical infrastructure needs such as facility renovations, technical equipment upgrades, and digital system enhancements to boost organizational sustainability and artistic excellence.
Grant amounts range from $100,000 to $500,000, with projects expected to be completed within 18 months. Eligible projects include facility upgrades, repairs, small-scale renovations, and purchases of equipment, supplies, office furnishings, or technology. These funds are intended for operational improvements rather than single productions or events.
To qualify, organizations must be physically located in and serve communities within Los Angeles County. Applicants must operate as a 501(c)(3) or be fiscally sponsored, with at least five consecutive years of service in the area. Organizations should maintain an annual budget of $350,000 or more and employ at least three full-time paid staff (excluding fiscal sponsor staff). An active Board of Directors or Advisory Council is also required.
Arts programming must be ongoing year-round and accessible to LA County residents. The organization should demonstrate a consistent focus on arts as a core priority and maintain meaningful partnerships with historically underfunded communities in the arts. The application deadline is August 4, 2025.
