Capacity Building funding supports nonprofits’ organizational capacity and programmatic effectiveness. One-time support may be provided for:
- Organization Planning: Strategic planning, succession planning, staff, board, or volunteer training and development
- Technology Resources: Equipment, technology, and software or hardware purchases as it relates to database systems, cybersecurity, and safety/security
- Programs: Program design/piloting, expansion, evaluation, and curriculum development
- Organizational Sustainability: Development/fundraising planning and financial system upgrades.
Funding Information
Grant requested must not exceed $99,999.
Grant Period
Up to one year of funding.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Current nonprofit partner that has received funding from the Best Buy Foundation within the past three years but has not been awarded capacity funding.
- Organization is based in and provides services in the Twin Cities 7-county metro.
- Project requested must solely serve communities in the Twin Cities 7-county metro.
- Qualified 501 (c)(3) nonprofit or tax-exempt public charity with a valid IRS Tax ID.
- Must be willing to participate in site visits by Best Buy Foundation staff and Best Buy Foundation Board members.
