Priority Areas
Areas of focus include decreasing social isolation, programs that bring services to people in their homes, and initiatives that connect individuals to the resources that support their ongoing independence. Extending organizational capacity and impact may require the use of volunteers. Proposals with programs that demonstrate alignment with the Prosperity Initiative focus on evidence-based, upstream approaches to reduce generational poverty will be given priority consideration.
Eligibility Criteria
- All programs funded must address the UWTSA targeted strategies from one of the following goal and focus areas: Educational Success (Early Literacy, Postsecondary Enrollment), Financial Wellness, Heathy Living (Aging in Place), and Housing Stability/Homelessness (Eviction and Homelessness Prevention).
- UWTSA funds should be no more than 50% of the program budget—UWTSA funds need to be matched by other resources (cash and in-kind) and specified on the budget.
- Organizations are responsible for submitting thorough and complete information in their proposal.
- Applicants will receive priority consideration if they are on the list of 2025 Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) serving Pima County, Arizona, and, if on the list, must maintain their status as a QCO through consecutive years of funding.
- Applicants who previously received funding from United Way must be current with all reporting requirements.
