The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain is now accepting applications for its Catalyst Fund. This fund focuses on supporting unhoused populations in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington, Connecticut.
Grants range from $10,000 to $100,000 and last for one year. The fund targets projects such as rehousing interventions for unsheltered individuals or encampments within the service area. It also supports small-scale prevention initiatives like preventing eviction or housing loss for those at imminent risk.
Other priorities include communication and outreach to encourage early engagement by people at risk of homelessness and efforts to engage landlords in prevention and intervention. The fund also supports providing essential services to keep people housed and expanding shelter or outreach services to reduce health risks for unsheltered individuals.
Funding awards can be up to $20,000, with grant periods ranging from six to twelve months. Only community-based 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate a proven track record of effective homelessness services with positive outcomes. Applicants should clearly show measurable program results, highlighting how individuals will achieve long-term housing stability beyond immediate service delivery.
