GSCF is a competitive grant program offering partial reimbursement for projects that reduce transportation-related emissions. Existing diesel vehicles, engines and equipment (units) are scrapped for replacement. These units are replaced with newer, cleaner alternative-fueled, diesel replacement units. All applicants must provide the full cost for the project upfront prior to seeking reimbursement for eligible project costs.
Funding Information
Approximately $5.1 million is available from New Hampshire’s Volkswagen Mitigation Trust (VW Trust) to support diesel emissions reduction projects that have been selected by a scoring committee comprised of representatives from state agencies.
- Diesel, CNG, Hybrid (Conventional or PHEV), Propane and Marine Shore Power Projects – $500,000.
- Battery-Electric, Grid or Hydrogen Fuel Cell Projects – $750,000.

- Diesel to Diesel Unit Replacements (e.g. diesel-powered plow/dump truck).
- Diesel to Alternative Fuel Unit Replacements.
- Compressed Natural Gas (e.g. CNG-powered refuse truck).
- Electricity from batteries, grid or hydrogen fuel cells (e.g. electricpowered school bus).
- Hybrid (e.g., conventional or plug-in hybrid electric transit bus).
- Propane (e.g. propane-powered delivery/utility truck).
- Marine Shore Power Installation.
