The Latino Equity Fund (LEF) uses its influence and platform to amplify diverse voices and perspectives within the Latino community and beyond in Greater Boston and the state, with a focus on achieving greater and more equitable access to economic prosperity and well-being.

Details:

For its FY25 grantmaking cycle, LEF seeks applications from community nonprofits within TBF’s catchment area, who are working towards the advancement of Latinos by creating 1) economic prosperity opportunities or 2) addressing health disparities and 3) well-being. Grant initiatives include but are not limited to:

  • Creating Economic Prosperity Opportunities
    • Adult Education, Computer Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Housing assistance, Workforce Development/Training, ESOL, Leadership Development, Financial Literacy, Education and Language, Racial Wealth Gap
  • Combatting Against Healthcare Disparities
    • Improving Healthcare Equity and Access, Language Access, Mental Health, Substance Use, Built and Natural Environment, Housing insecurity and homelessness, Food Insecurity, Elder Care
  • Supporting the Community’s Well-Being
    • Youth Development, Climate, Civic Engagement, Research, Immigration reform advocacy.

Funding Information

Latino Equity Fund FY25 grants are $50,000, two-year general operating support grants, paid in two equal annual installments of $25,000.

Criteria 

With its grantmaking, LEF strives to catalyze new partnerships, support and expand the capacity of the Latinx nonprofit sector and respond to emerging community needs. LEF prioritizes supporting emerging Latinx-serving organizations, those who are Latinx-led, and organizations that have not previously received funding from LEF/TBF.

  • Latino Equity Fund Grants team strives to be conscious of accessibility in technology and language access.
  • Latino Equity Fund’s RFP is likely to be highly competitive. While they have worked to streamline the application process, they value the time commitment it takes to submit a request. Please review the funding priorities to assess your organization’s alignment prior to applying.
  • The Latino Equity Fund does not provide grants to individuals, nor does it provide funds for endowments, fundraising drives and events, retirement of debt, operating deficits, projects that directly influence legislation, political activities or candidates for public office.
