The intent of the U.P. Health Impact Grant Program is to provide funding for health-centered projects across the Upper Peninsula. Through this program, the Superior Health Foundation seeks to support transformational projects that improve the health and well-being of U.P. residents.
They are particularly interested in funding projects related to these areas:
- Strengthening the healthcare workforce
- Improving access to care at a systemic level
- Building community capacity to understand and address pressing health issues.
- New projects, organizations, and new collaborations between existing entities
Funding Information
Most awards will be between $5,000 and $75,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Any tax-exempt organization based in or working in the Upper Peninsula to improve health outcomes in the region, with preference given to grassroots organizations, neighborhood groups, tribal communities, and small and medium-sized nonprofits.
Selection Criteria
Final selections will depend on available funds and how strongly proposals align with the following criteria (not all may apply):
- There is a clear, demonstrated need in the community for this support, and the project will improve health outcomes for those being served
- The community or beneficiaries of the program are engaged in the planning, design, implementation, or evaluation of the program
- The project demonstrates a clear connection to improving the health of residents
- The project is transformational for the community by introducing new services or new ways of delivering existing services
- The project will provide proof of concept for expansion or serve as a model for other organizations to replicate
- There is collaboration with other entities.
