H2Ohio is a statewide water quality initiative designed to address complex issues impacting Ohio’s waters.
Its mission is to ensure all Ohioans have access to clean, safe water for generations to come.
Program Benefits
H2Ohio provides producers with financial and technical assistance to implement conservation practices.
- Reducing financial risks of trying new conservation practices on their cropland.
- Increasing the effectiveness of recommended systems or individual conservation practices.
- Scheduling practices that fit the cooperator’s timetable and resources.
Together, the SWCD and the producers are working to reduce phosphorus loading by implementing conservation practices and may reduce nutrient applications on their crop land.
Who may apply?
Enrollment is currently open for producers in Crawford, Erie, Huron, Marion, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Shelby, and Wyandot counties. H2Ohio is a statewide program, and producers in all 88 counties can learn more through their local SWCD.
