The Sharing Prince George’s Fund, managed by the Greater Washington Community Foundation, provides support to nonprofits serving low-income residents in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The fund is designed to help organizations respond to the community’s most urgent needs and work toward creating a more equitable and thriving region.
Aligned with the foundation’s 10-year strategic plan, the fund aims to advance economic justice and close the wealth gap, which impacts the health and stability of the community. This cycle’s funding priorities include basic needs such as access to health resources, food security, affordable housing, childcare, and education, as well as interventions that assist families in moving from crisis to recovery.
The fund also focuses on economic mobility, providing resources to help individuals escape poverty through higher education, training, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs. Additionally, the fund supports community wealth-building initiatives that empower people to build financial and social capital, helping them weather future challenges.
Sharing Prince George’s will award up to 10 one-time grants, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, to eligible nonprofits.
