The program aims to enrich the quality of life for all residents of Shelby County by providing a permanent, collective philanthropic resource to address the community’s current and future needs.
The intended use of grant funds is to improve the lives of people in Shelby County. Grants are awarded for a one-year period only. All awarded funds must be utilized during this period or be forfeited. Applicants are encouraged to obtain additional funding from other resources and not to seek 100% of the project funding from the Foundation. The Foundation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to award grants of any amount, for any time period, and under any structure that it deems appropriate. Challenge and matching grants may be eligible for funding
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be based in Shelby County or have existing services in Shelby County.
- Capital projects are funded only on a matching basis.
- Please note that grants will NOT be made for the following:
- Religious Education
- Animal-serving organizations
- Administrative Expenses
- Any nonprofit organization which has a functional board of directors and proof of 501(c)(3) status is eligible to apply.
