Goals 

The goals of the program are to:

  • Provide project funding resulting in at least one project performance or exhibition that is free of charge and open to the entire community. Please note: Applicants can have additional performances or exhibitions that charge an entry fee.
  • Infuse the local creative economy with various project-related purchases tied to the creation, installation, and documentation of art projects.
  • Produce artworks for Hamilton County, Tennessee’s public realm that:
    • Enhance and animate outdoor or indoor public spaces.
    • Provide access to a diversity of artists and artistic experiences.
    • Elevate the role artists play in connecting people and places.
    • Open arts experiences for community members who are most often underserved in this realm.
    • Create shared experiences that prompt hope, healing, and connection fo Chattanoogans.

  • Visual Art: 2D, 3D, Projection, Installation
  • Fine Craft: Excellence working with a particular traditional material or medium.
  • Media: Film or Photography
  • Performance: Dance, Music/Instrumental, Theatre or Vocal
  • Literary Arts.

Grants will be funded up to $5,000.

  • Project Manager fees
  • General liability insurance and any other insurance (not required, but eligible if needed)

Eligibility Criteria

Non-profit organizations [501(c)3] within Hamilton County, Tennessee or a county bordering Hamilton County, Tennessee with an active Unique Entity ID (UEI) in partnership with a lead artist or group of artists who live in Hamilton County, TN or adjacent to Hamilton County, TN. To obtain a UEI or to check your organization’s status.
