Summer camps are a rite of passage for Alaskan youth and essential childcare infrastructure for Alaskan families.
Funding Information
Large, statewide camp providers and organizations providing camps in remote, rural locations are eligible for grants of up to $45,000. All other camp providers are eligible for grants of up to $20,000.
- Large, statewide camp providers serve at least 250 youth through overnight programming or at least 500 youth through day programming.
- Remote, rural locations are off the road and marine highway system. Outdoor recreation camps offered within state and national parks are not considered remote, rural locations.
Grant Period
Proposed projects are for camps that take place during summer 2026, with final reports due at the end of October.
Eligibility Criteria
- Geographic Requirement
- Organizations must serve Alaska. Organizations headquartered outside Alaska may apply but should demonstrate significant service to the state or partner with a local organization/group that does.
- Entity Type
- Organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation, individuals and organizations that have a fiscal sponsor with a 501(c)(3) designation, Tribes and Tribal entities, K12 schools, city governments and boroughs, collaborations of nonprofit and public agencies, or other entities that have a designated charitable purpose will be considered. Organizations with religious affiliations will be considered for funding only if the project for which they seek support addresses the needs of the wider community without regard to religious beliefs. 501(c)4, 501(c)6, and 501(c)7 organizations are not eligible for funding.
