The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana offers Capacity Building Grants aimed at enhancing organizations’ operating capacity to help them continue providing vital community services. These grants support long-term growth and sustainability through strategic planning and improvement efforts.
Grant amounts range from $10,000 to $100,000, with funding requests between $5,000 and $25,000 accepted quarterly. The program focuses on projects that strengthen governance, leadership, technology, program evaluation, and administrative capacity.
Eligible projects include management and governance system assessments, program effectiveness evaluations, organizational strategic planning, board and staff development, fund development planning, succession planning, technology upgrades, volunteer management system improvements, and external communication strategy planning.
To qualify, organizations must be 501(c)(3) public charities in good standing with the IRS or charitable projects sponsored by such organizations. Applicants must serve Clark and Floyd counties in Indiana and propose projects that enhance their organization’s efficiency, effectiveness, or sustainability.
