Allowable uses include (all in the early care range of birth to age five):
- Social, emotional, physical, and mental health supports & curriculum.
- Training and development to operate and address the needs of young children birth to age five more effectively.
- Other activities necessary to maintain the services in early care and education prioritizing the needs of underserved groups.
Funding Information
Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation anticipates awarding approximately $200,000 in grants with individual requests of up to $20,000. This funding pool will support projects that can be completed in a one-year period.
Grant Guidelines
- Only one application per organization will be considered.
- Proposals must be submitted by an independent 501(c)(3) organization, a unit/agency of government or a public institution.
- Projects are encouraged to support underserved & diverse populations.
- If you have a current grant, include a status update of your project in order to qualify for this one.
Exclusions
Ineligible organizations or activities include:
- Individuals, businesses, or other for-profit organizations
- Nonprofit organizations other than IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organizations
- General operating expenses
- Capital funding, campaigns, or endowments
- Funds for re-granting or loan pools.
