The Foundation Funds
- Films, scripts, and treatments
- New projects of any duration/runtime
- Projects that are in pre-production, and in production are welcome to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a resident of New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, Colorado, or Texas.
- Short Filmmakers in New Mexico may apply for up to $15,000.
- Feature Filmmakers in New Mexico may apply for up to $25,000.
- Filmmakers in Arizona, Oklahoma, Colorado, or Texas may apply for up to $10,000.
- Filmmakers may also apply for the Los Luceros Grant
- Eligible film projects must be shot partially or fully at the Los Luceros Historic Site.
- Applicants for the Los Luceros Grant must reside in Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, or Taos Counties.
- Filmmakers may apply for up to $10,000.
- For filmmakers with inquiries about the Los Luceros Historic Site and Grant, please contact the
- Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area.
Ineligibility
- Applicants may not apply if they are employed by the Santa Fe International Film Festival.
- Applications submitted from outside New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, Colorado, or Texas will not be considered.
- Public Service Announcements, political advertisements, webisodes, music videos, and completed projects that are widely available will not be considered.
- Organizations may not apply. SFFI will only consider applications from a filmmaker or a producer.
- Projects that have previously submitted are not applicable for funding, though directors/producers may apply this year on behalf of a new project.
- Filmmakers who received a Grant from the Santa Fe Film Institute in 2025 will not be considered.
