2025 stART Grant provides Artists, Artist Groups, Collectives, Co-Ops, Community Groups, Fiscally Sponsored Organizations, and 501(c)3 organizations with funding through two alternate tracks of support: Community Impact track and Artist Development track.

Details:

The Arts Foundation’s mission is to advance artistic expression, civic participation, and equitable economic growth of diverse community by supporting, promoting, and advocating for arts and culture in region. This program is funded in part by the City of Tucson and Pima County.

stART Grant provides award funds through two alternate tracks of support:

  • The Community Impact track provides financial support to individuals and groups for projects that will positively impact a community through an artistic endeavor.
  • The Artist Development track provides financial support to creatives for whom a specific, practice-related capital resource or professional development experience will make an impact on their artistic practice.

Funding Information

$500-$3,000.

Grant Period 

Funded project activities must take place between July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.

Eligible Expenses

Project-related expenses including supplies, artist fees, honorariums, and contractors.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a working artist or artist group in any arts and culture discipline or 501(c)3 Organization Applicant must currently reside within the City of Tucson, City of South Tucson, Pima County, Pascua Yaqui Reservation, or The Tohono O’odham Nation
  • Grantee will be required to complete a W-9 and be responsible for the financial reporting on grant funds
  • Grantee will be required to submit a brief final report 30 days after the end of the funding period to document expenses and provide a brief description of programming
  • Applicant may only apply for one single project.

 Ineligibility 

  • Grantees of the 2024 start Grant, grantees of the 2025 ARPA Artists Grant, and grantees of the 2025 ARPA Organization Grant
  • Corporations, schools, government agencies. This grant is not an organizational support grant. Collaborations should not be a part of an already established season or regularly scheduled programming for an organization
  • Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in half-time or more status during the grant funding period
  • Previous grantees or contractors who have delinquent final reports or projects from any past Arts Foundation award or contract (formerly the Tucson Pima Arts Council).
