Eligibility Criteria
Qualified applicants must be located within Summit County, and may include:
- Small businesses in good standing (business license)
- Home based businesses in good standing (business license)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (business license)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(6) status with the IRS (business license) Projects must be geographically located in Summit County and have economic development significance, including, but not limited to job creation and retention; business retention, relocation, or expansion; increased private investment; advancing innovation; enhancing manufacturing capacities; providing workforce development opportunities.
The following types of expenses will be considered:
- Capacity building (infrastructure: water, sewer broadband, etc.)
- Construction (not related to a primary residence) on properties zoned non-residential or entitled commercial/industrial via special use permit.
- Equipment/material purchases (approved by Summit County)
- Market research
- Technical assistance
- Workforce training programs
- Special events that have a direct economic benefit (that can be measured).
