The State has two key goals for the SOC Service Grant:
- To increase access to high-quality and culturally-appropriate services and supports for children with SED and their families in the identified regions.
- To develop a sustainable infrastructure to support the SOC approach for North Dakota children with SED and their families.
Through the SOC Children’s Service Grant implementation, the State intends to develop and enhance a comprehensive, community-based children’s behavioral health service array. The SOC initiative aims to help families function better at home, in school, and in the community.
The goal of the SOC Children’s Service Grant is to support and empower regional and local innovation to fill service and system gaps for children with SED and their family. This grant opportunity is available to providers and entities that serve children, adolescents, and young adults, birth through age 21, with behavioral health conditions and their families.
Funding Information
The budget for the period of April 1, 2024, through September 29, 2024, is not to exceed $250,000 per entity to support the development and implementation of community-based services and supports for children, adolescents, young adults, birth through age 21, and their families.
Georgraphical Focus
The State intends to award grant funding to agencies and entities that serve children, adolescents, young adults, birth through age 21, and their families in the SOC geographic catchment areas, including the ten counties served by the West Central Human Service Center and the six counties served by the Lake Region Human Service Center. These counties include: Benson, Burleigh, Cavalier, Eddy, Emmons, Grant, Kidder, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Oliver, Ramsey, Rolette, Sheridan, Sioux, and Towner. The geographic areas include four tribal nations: The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Spirit Lake Nation, Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, and the Mandan Hidatsa Arikara Nation.
Eligibility Criteria
Successful applicants must:
- Be a non-profit organization, family-run organization, private behavioral health provider, healthcare provider, school, educational organization, tribal entity or stakeholder, or another community-based, child-serving entity located in or looking to expand services in one of the catchment regions identified above.
- Serve children, adolescents, and young adults, birth through age 21, at risk for or with SED and their families.
