Details:

THCI (Texas Health Community Impact) strives to advance commitments and fulfill mission and vision by focusing on the essential issues in the Denton-Wise-Parker Region. The foundational goal of strategic plan is to expand access to quality healthcare and Social Determinants of Health through innovative and collaborative community partner projects. Looking at the national standards proposed by the Healthy People 2030 and the data specific to the high needs ZIP codes identified in Denton. Wise and Parker counties. the Denton-Wise-Parker Leadership Council proposes the following goals.

  • Increase access to healthcare and Transportation and/or navigation to social services services in Denton County
  • Improve health outcomes by Increase access to healthy foods increasing access to health services as evidenced by standardized tool
  • Increase equitable access to Reduce household food insecurity behavioral health care and/or in Wise County as evidenced by substance use disorder treatment standardized tool and support in Wise County

Funding Information

Total Funding Available: Up to $900,000.00.

Project Period

Jan. 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

The following is a non-exclusive list of potential lead organizations that may be eligible to apply:

  • State, county, city, or township governments
  • Independent school districts
  • Public or state-controlled institutions of higher education
  • Public housing authorities
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS

Exclusions

The following expenses are not allowable:

  • Indirect costs exceeding 10% of the total collaborative direct costs. Indirect costs are expenses that do not relate to a specific intervention or service such as overhead, utilities, accounting, and rent support.
  • Endowments or capital campaigns
  • Capital expenses, construction projects, and purchase of large equipment. Mission critical equipment purchases may be considered and must be approved by THCI
  • Fundraising activities or event sponsorships Direct delivery of reimbursable health care services
  • Grants or scholarships to individuals Advertising reimbursement of pre-award costs
  • Lobbying activities, including publicity or propaganda, preparation, distribution, or use of any material designed to support or defeat the enactment of legislation before any legislative body
