Since 1954, Texas Historical Foundation’s mission has been to preserve the unique and rich heritage of Texas by supporting nonprofit organizations that restore historic structures and sites; conserve and archive rare documents; share Texas stories through education, research, and the arts; and uncover historic and prehistoric archaeological sites and artifacts.
Eligible Projects
Proposals for the following types of projects are considered quarterly for grants up to $8,000 and annually for grants up to $25,000:
- Historic property preservation
- Events or programs promoting state history to the public
- Preservation of artifacts, archival materials, or collections
- Texas history curriculum and educational programming
- Museum programming
- Publications and scholarly research in Texas history
- Archeology
- Cultural heritage and the arts
- Texas legal and legislative history.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible groups are 501(c)(3) designated nonprofit organizations pursuing work within the regular program areas.
